Welcome to the Late Samir Al-Rifai Chair
We are pleased to welcome visitors to the website of the Late Samir Al-Rifai Chair for Jordanian Studies, and we hope it serves as a gateway for communication and introducing the Chair's work and various activities in our beloved university.
The Late Samir Al-Rifai Chair for Jordanian Studies, one of the six academic chairs at Yarmouk University, strives to achieve numerous objectives, the most important of which are: conducting scientific studies and research related to the history of the Jordanian state from the establishment of the Emirate to the present day; contributing to disseminating knowledge about Jordan's civilizational and historical development since the founding of the Emirate and its relations with neighboring countries and global powers; studying the lives of Jordanian pioneers, politicians, and prominent figures and their impact on building the Jordanian state; organizing conferences, seminars, and workshops related to Jordan and its cultural, social, and economic environment and its political and regional role; and contributing to researching and analyzing the intellectual and political heritage of political leaders and their impact on development and modernization in Jordan.
Future Work Strategy
The Chair aspires to implement its work strategy for the upcoming phase, which is considered one of the most important milestones in the history of the Jordanian state—the Kingdom's celebration of the centennial of the Jordanian state. The Chair looks forward to enhancing the University's role in the Kingdom's centennial celebrations through:
- Holding scientific seminars related to the history of the Emirate and the establishment of the state
- The struggle for independence and political and party work during the Emirate period
- Declaring the Kingdom after independence and holding a scientific conference on this important occasion
- Working to publish studies and research related to the achievements of the Jordanian state
